[bingobangobongo]

[Post-scuba training, the aspiring astronaut known as Al Calavicci (Bingo, to most,) finds himself held somewhere between satisfyingly tired and exceptionally charged. Knowing Cocoa Beach to be the stomping ground of one Kara Thrace, he hopes to take the time to seek her out before returning to the Cape for more training.]

[As luck would have it (and often does with these two,) Bingo spies the one person he happens to know in the area. She is down the beach, still recognizable on this dreary and overcast February weekday, and very obviously unaware of his existence at this moment.]

[Let's pretend he doesn't think he's god's gift to women, and that he doesn't bother changing into something other than his swim trunks because he's afraid he might miss her leaving in the meantime. Sadly, we can pretend, but it's hardly the truth.]

[Smirk!] Well, someone taught to me to behave better than Jenna-Julie-Jackie. [Grins and steals a bite of his sandwich.] You just remember that when I save your ass from drowning later.

Yeah, yeah, I'll owe you one. [Chuckles and takes a lean near her, regarding the water.] You swim a lot?

I do. [Sits back, looking at the surf.] Beats my stuffy apartment.

[This just feels... wrong to Al. He yearns for that spark he'd seen in her before, but realizes it's probably buried pretty deep. Having finished a good part of the sandwich, he washes it down with some cold beer and glances in her direction.] So, we're out here, it's quiet, we're alone. Why don't you tell me how I can make things better? [Because he hated to see her suffer.]

[Stands and peels her shirt off, tossing it at him.] Come for a swim. [Turns and dashes off, losing her shorts as she goes. She makes it to the water far ahead of him, and dives beneath the waves.]

[Damn her and her lead. Bingo's got to change (again,) anyway, but rest assured, he's not that far behind her. The water's more of a shock this time, but Bingo endures it well enough. He has no trouble finding her, though he's keeping an eye out for anyone or anything else that might be lingering nearby. It never hurts to be aware.]

[She dips below the waves and comes up beside him, treading water.] Cold today, isn't it? [Turns to look out toward the horizon.] It's going to storm.

Wouldn't mind seeing it come in. [He dips below the water long enough to get his hair wet, and then pops back up.] Not that there aren't better views... [Even if most of her was obscured by the water. There's that imagination again!]

[Shakes her head, giving him a half-smile.] You really must have been working hard lately.

[Bingo closes some of the distance between them, eyebrow raised playfully.] Yeah? What finally convinced you?

You're off your game, that's what. [Splashes water at him and swims backward parallel to the shore.]

That's it, then? I'm 'off my game.' What does that mean? [Returns her splash, but hey, he's too far away to make it effective. So, he swims after her, though there's definitely a leisurely pace to his action.] Please, enlighten me.

[Grins at him, smoothing her wet hair back.] I guess I'm just immune to your charms.

If that's truly the case -- which I sincerely doubt -- then it sounds like you're the one with the issue. Immunity doesn't mean the ailment's any less powerful.

[Laughs.] Please take note of the fact you've just likened yourself to a disease.

Yep. And there's no cure for me. Not that I've ever met a person that would want to be rid of Al Calavicci... [Ha! Riiiight, Bingo. You keep thinking that.]

[Swims closer, grinning darkly.] Not a one, huh? Don't be so certain.

[He doesn't allow her to advance on him much, especially with that look on her face.] You gonna prove me wrong, Thrace? Drown me for the sake of all womankind? [Smirk!]

Not just womankind, Bingo. I consider it a favor to humanity. [Retreats a bit, looking past him and then back to the beach, smiling cheerfully.] Think anyone will come to your rescue?

[Reverse of before, when she moves away, he moves after her, maintaining that very same distance as before.] You're assuming I need rescue. Or that I want rescue.

[Grins, holding her position.] You'd just let me drown you? C'mon! What fun is that for me?

Now, I never said that I'd let you drown me. Just that I didn't need help dealing with you and your meager threats. [Okay, so now he's advancing on her again, but it's ever so slooooooowly.]

[Treading water and holding her... "ground," fixing Al with a game smile.] If you think you're man enough to take me, why are you still all the way over there?
